Encouraging Others

The whole philosophy of the Depressed Caravan is to encourage others on their journey with depression. I also acknowledge those suffering with anxiety or other mental illnesses too, I’m just not as knowledgeable about them as I am depression. I do care about all of us under the ‘mental health umbrella’.

So why would I want to encourage others whilst I am still struggling myself? Because helping other individuals gives the pain a purpose. If you would never wish mental illness on your worst enemy, you would definitely want to help your fellow strugglers. The pain has to mean something, it needs to be understood otherwise what is the point of it all. To go through such treacherous seas and for it to mean nothing is futile. To have meaning makes it hurt less, to know there is a purpose in the pain. I’d be really interested in your thoughts about this one. How have you found a purpose with your depression, or are you still at the point of wondering what on earth has happened to you. Either way I’m keen to here from you love Tam xx

Hey! I am a passionate advocate for those with depression following my own journey with severe depression. I still have depression however I have found a way with professional help and sheer determination, to reach out to others and to stay connected to life and my local community. I LOVE music, art: watercolour and brush lettering and live to help others. I'm very into self-development and love activities that focus on the beauty in life and simple things.
